Our sheep

We have two Wensleydale Longwool sheep. As the name already implies, they have long (and curly) wool. Normally, they should not be shaved in the spring, but the wool should be cut by hand. This takes about two and a half hours per sheep!

The sheep have a very lazy life - and they can be sure they will never be eaten!

We have two brother-sheep; they got along so well when they were young, that we decided not to split them. They now always do everything together. They even pee at the same time! On their official papers they are called Tristan and Trevor, but we call them 8000 and 6000 (the numbers on their ear tag) or just 'the brothers'.

As you can see, they are very relaxed among the horses.

Jeroen is holding one sheep so that I could cut the wool from his belly. It took us the whole afternoon to deal with the two brothers! The result was two big big bags of wool....
